National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration will support and enhance various critical observing systems in the ocean, coasts, and Great Lakes. Many of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s observing systems have been operating for decades and require investment to maintain reliability as well as expand geographic coverage.
This funding will support a number of projects including refurbishments and technology upgrades of observing infrastructure in the U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing Systems Regional Associations, support for the National Water Level Observation Network, design engineering for Airborne Phased Array Radar, and ship time for deployment and system verification of the new capitalized Tropical Atmosphere-Ocean moorings.
