The Metropolitan Planning Program are available to carry out the metropolitan transportation planning process and meet the transportation planning requirements of the joint Federal Transit Administration and Federal Highway Administration planning regulations.
The eligible activities for the metropolitan planning funds include work elements that result in a balance and comprehensive intermodal transportation planning for the movement of people and goods in the metropolitan area.
Formula funds are apportioned after appropriations are received.
